What Next After BCA? In 2025 : Going For Placements Or MCA !

What Next After BCA? – After finishing BCA, almost every student has this confusion: now that BCA is finished, should they go for a job, join a company, or pursue MCA? Which will be the perfect decision? So, all these parameters we are going to discuss here in this post.

Why am I the best and perfect candidate to guide you on this? My name is Pratik, and I am the founder of OnlineStudy4U, which has 7 lakh+ subscribers and is the No. 1 placement preparation institute in India, where I create education-related content.

What Next After BCA?Considering Joining MNCs – Wipro, Tcs, Infosys, Accenture

Let’s start with the first possibility, which is a job after BCA. But the salary is very, very low. Just for reference, take the salary of Wipro WILP — they are offering ₹14,000 per month in the first year, while you are paying around ₹70,000 per year as BCA fees, and that too after signing a 5-year bond.

If I consider TCS, it has two roles: one is Explore and the other is Ignite. In Explore, you are going to get around a 2 LPA package, and in Ignite, you are going to get a 2.6 LPA package. So, that is not so good, but to some extent, I think these roles and this package are decent for BCA graduates.

However, in this blog, we are deciding what to do after BCA. In the TCS Ignite program, you will get an MCA sponsored by TCS, but you still have to pay the college fees. In Explore, you do not get any MCA program. So, this is also a good option only if you get selected for Ignite. Otherwise, if you need a higher package or want to pursue your career in the development field, then I think the Explore option in TCS is not a better fit for you.

And in Infosys, they have been hiring only for BPO roles for the last five years, since 2021. After that, they never hired for the role of Operations Executive. So, I don’t think joining Infosys after BCA for a non-IT and non-development kind of role is the best option for you. Reconsidering the option of joining Infosys would be a better choice.

What Next After BCA?

So, forget about Infosys. My suggestion is to look for any other offer. If you don’t have one, then going for MCA is the best option — but not going for a Business Process Operations role in Infosys.

So the considering Accenture system and application services associate role which is exclusively for the three years degree graduate, so this has a 3.3 6LPA package with the better in hand salary. So I think if you have this kind of offer, then you can reject joining Mca and join Accenture.

What Next After BCA?

So I have covered almost everything about TCS, Infosys, Accenture, and Wipro. Now, my conclusion is simple:

  • Join Ignite, not Explore, in TCS.
  • Join the Operations Executive role, not any BPO, in Infosys.
  • Joining Wipro totally depends on you because of the 5-year agreement and the low initial salary. But after MTech or 5 years, you may reach around 6 LPA, which is usually equal to what you get after 4 years in TCS.
  • And finally, Accenture is the perfect choice to join after BCA.
Company & RoleKey Summary
TCS – Explore~2 LPA, no MCA support, no bond, not ideal for development roles. ❌
TCS – Ignite~2.6 LPA, TCS-sponsored MCA (fees paid by you), better long-term growth. ✅
Infosys – BPO Roles~2 LPA, non-IT, limited growth, not suitable after BCA. ❌
Infosys – Operations Executive~2.5 LPA, rare now, decent for IT if available. ⚠️
Wipro – WILP₹14K/month 1st year, 5-year bond, M.Tech from BITS, ~6 LPA after 5 years. ⚠️
Accenture – Associate Role~3.3 LPA, no bond, best immediate option after BCA. ✅

What Next After BCA?Considering Joining MCA

So, joining MCA before 2018 was the best option because at that time, MCA used to be three years. But after they cancelled MCA 3 years and made it MCA 2 years, from that time, MCA has lost its value. So if you have enough amount of money, if your parents are rich, then you can consider joining MCA. Otherwise, joining a job after BCA is the best option.

For a better comparison, just imagine you are joining a job, you are joining placement after BCA and taking two years of experience. Your package will be around 5 LPA, and even after BCA, if you waste two years on your MCA again, your average package will be around 4 LPA. So in this scenario, after MCA, you don’t have experience. Even if you get placement, that will be around 4 LPA only. But after BCA, you get a job, you work 2 to 3 years, then you have two years of full-time experience plus you have a high package.

What Next After BCA? – So anyhow, BCA after placement is the better situation for you. And the main thing here to consider is, after two years of your full-time experience, joining MCA as a part-time — this is also the best option. Again, you can rejoin placements. Then you have an MCA master’s degree plus 2+ years of experience. You have a better chance of getting a job after experience plus MCA. This will be easier. This you can choose as a third option.
