But here’s the point—whatever skills and job description are mentioned in the company’s profile must be present in your resume document. Only then is your resume going to be shortlisted.
So this is the first myth—everyone says the resume must be this, must be that—so no need to worry about all that, okay?
The second myth here is—resume ATS score must be 90+. There are multiple websites on the internet, and each site issues different ATS scores according to their own parameters. So, don’t worry about this. Just maintain a proper structure which includes projects, internships, certifications, and skills, and your score will naturally be around 80 to 85+.

So always, everyone gets the same doubt—they ask me anytime on my YouTube channel, “Sir, how many pages of resume is best?”
So in simple words, I want to say: if you are a fresher, don’t extend your resume beyond one page. Add all types of projects, certifications, experience, education, and technical skills inside this. Don’t make a lengthy resume like a story—because HR never has time to read your full resume.

- If you are a fresher, just go with a single-page resume.
- If you have three to four years of experience and have worked on multiple projects, then I suggest you create a two-page resume.
- And if you have more than seven to eight years of experience, then I prefer you create a three-page resume.
So, not more than that—this is not your film, not your story, not your autobiography. It is a resume, and it must be short and sweet.
Comman Mistakes As A Fresher: Resume Myths Busted
We have designed 3000+ resumes and conducted 100+ interviews in real time, and I observed the same mistake freshers keep making—they are applying with the same resume for multiple job opportunities. So, don’t do that. Just tailor your resume, customize and modify it for every job description.
And the second thing—don’t apply for non-technical jobs with technical skills, and don’t apply for technical jobs with non-technical skills. This kind of vice versa mistake is done by candidates every time. So, this is something I really want to emphasize.

After writing your resume, consult with your seniors, consult with your mentors, and ask them for a resume review. After your resume is reviewed, read it from the reverse—don’t start from the beginning, read it backward so you can catch spelling mistakes and ensure there are no grammatical errors.

So here’s one important thing I want to highlight about resumes: Along with your resume, you must create a cover letter, and after that, you must have a digital portfolio. These three things—resume, cover letter, and portfolio—are essential to have on your desk.
Because it’s 2025, the AI era, there is fierce competition, even for a basic desktop support job. This is not like the 2021–22 period, where people were hired just based on education.
